I picked up a 12m Nitro 6 part way through the summer as my "light wind" kite. I weigh 130lbs and ride in Lake Champlain most of the time. I haven't had many sessions on the kite, but had it out for most of the day on Monday in steady 14-18mph winds. Power wise, the kite was great for me. However, every time I've flown this kite, I've inverted it. It usually happens after a failed jump- the kite flies way up high into the window, turns upside down, and floats down to to the water, where it catches the wind again and rolls. I'm sure this is a technique thing, but I've been kiting for 3 years and have never experienced this behavior with my Elements (like ever). I let an experienced friend fly my Nitro as well, and he had the exact same thing happen. Has anyone else experienced this? I have been mostly flying on the middle knots, am thinking maybe switching to the closest knots to keep the kite a little more sheeted in?
