Someone awhile ago posted about replacing the Switch magnet with small 'donut' magnets. I needed to replace my chicken loop line so I decided to remove the Switch magnet and thread small magnets I purchased at Home Depot (hardware store). I think the magnets were less than $4 US and they are very powerful.

Works great. Don't have to worry about lining up the depower ball with the flat spot on the Switch magnet.

Great idea! Any chance you can post a photo?

Here you go. The magnets come in a package of 3 with nylon washers between them which I left intact. They are really strong magnets. Since all my kiting is salt water, I rinse the entire bar after each session. I think rust would form on the magnets if you didn't rinse, but I am not sure what difference it would make.
