Re: Nitro 6 with manufacturing mistake

I was skeptical about what had happened to this Nitro and put it down to user error....until today. ... I only ever tether launch on grass and do not self launch. Where the damage has occurred is where the kite sits while I hook on and bring the kite up so there is some slight discolouration from g...

Re: Ease of steering when sheeted out.

What size Element are you talking about? What you are describing is common on all kites I have flown (did not fly those you mentioned) that still turn when depowered. It is much more noticeable on small sizes. What happens is probably this: As you are already powered you are trying to turn the kite ...

Re: Would this kite quiver work?

That's the problem, in summer most common wind is 4-6m/s and good days 7-9m/s so for most cases I think 10 wouldn't work for me. So then it is easy. I do not think in 4-6m/s any of the Legacies will work really. You really want the Helium for that. 12m² Legacy will work for 7-9m/s, for stronger win...

Re: Would this kite quiver work?

12 and 8 works without a Problem.
Although for myself this would not be very practical, as most "good" days are 10m² wind.
You could also go 8,10,16 or even 8,10,18 depending on the winds that are most common for you.

Re: 9m Element or Nitro

The Element turns quicker/tighter and generates less power in the turn, compared to the Nitro. That makes it easier and less painful to learn on, though its not really hard on the Nitro either. There is no "better looping kite". The Element will continue to be easier to fly/loop and be more forgivin...

Re: Wave kite

I guess you use the kite in light winds mostly?

I use 5 and 7 in 95% of my sessions.
Obviously weight is a non-issue in that winds.

But I have heard some other people who would love a lightweight kite for lighter winds.
Like the helium in 10m² or 11m².

Re: Wave kite

Only way to solve this problem as far as I know is to make it lighter - i don't need an all-terrain Kite, I want a "wave Kite". I would like to stay riding Switch kites but to do so need a " pure" wave Kite. What else beyond weight and name would make the element a "pure" wave kite in your view? We...

For learning loops the Element will be easier.

re: controller3 - kleine

I did cut down a Controller 2 bar. Was pretty straight forward. Drill out old rivets, remove bar ends, saw off ends, drill new holes, put in new rivets. I think there were some issues with the bungees to fix the lines, but I cannot remember exactly what the problem was. Nothing serious I think. Took...

Re: Element 4

If you want a kite, that is similar in windrange to the 10m Bandit, you will want the 9m² Element.
At your weight (138 pounds - 62kg?) the 11m² will also be quite big as your only kite.

So I would go for the 9m².
