Re: Switch Element V6

It took a little while to get used to feeling very little power in lulls, but that got better as I gained more confidence. After that it was happy swooshing with fast, tight linked turns happening all over the place. I think I'm going to like this kite. That's what I like about kitefoiling. You can...

Re: Helium 3 7sqm frontstall?

Being marketed as a foilkite doesn't automatically make it a foilkite... It should have 1 strut to really make a difference for small sizes in light winds... weight to lift ratio is worse on smaller sizes, so that's where the difference can be made. I sail my Element6 9m in 10kn, and it has 5 strut...

Re: Nitro or Element?

Switch bar is definitely compatible with OR kite, so I suppose the other way round is also true.

Given your programme (big air, old school), I would go for the Nitro. I don't know the Razor though so cannot really compare.

Re: Helium 3

I currently foil with an E5 9m and E5 7m. Often the 9m is too heavy to get out into the light stuff with other foilers, who are using 10m. And often the 7m is too large to foil in more than 25mph. Most people use 5m or 6m kites for 20-30mph conditions. What kite quiver should I upgrade to? I foil w...

Re: Helium 6m

Element6's are robust 5-strut kites. Too heavy to be considered a foiling kite. I thought the same until I tried foiling with my 9. I use it with a Takuma v50 in light wind, and with a Ketos freeride foil in stronger wind. A Helium kite may be better for the lighter end as the Element is probably a...

Re: Helium 6m

This year, I'd like to replace my E5s with H3s, but there is no way to get a logically 3-kite quiver, because there's no 6m! Anything more than a 10m LEI is unnecessary to foil with in my opinion. I foil with the E6 9m and can fly in a bit less than 10 knots. I live in a place where the wind rarely...

Re: Nitro 7 - The one that got away

Yep. After Bill Hanson left it seems that the new kite names are still being used for the same niches but have completely different designers and design histories. Scary but it seems to work so far. I don't understand why this would be scary. It's happened in the past with major brands (see the f-o...

Re: Element V5

I would love a 12, and maybe a 5 although the 7 does hold strong wind quite well.

Re: Another 13m V 11m Element dilema!

Hey effisk, interesting you say the 9 & 11 are too close but the 9 & 7 are ok ? I also have 7 & 9m EV4,s and find they do overlap but their sweet spots don't - would this not be the same for 9 & 11 ?? I'm hoping to get these sweet spots. 10-15 knots 11m. ? 15-20. 9m. ( Range I have experienced 13-2...
