2016?!? Can you point to any kite retailer that is selling kites cheaper than they were in 2016???

Re: Why you shouldn't buy a switch kite anymore

For a kite that you didn't even develop. I wouldn't call that cheap. You can buy a brand new kite at a local dealer for that price... I am not sure how this is relevant... Even if Switch did not develop this kite, someone certainly did and the cost of development is surely built in? I have seen com...

Re: Is controller 4 in development?

I would agree with the assessment that the current quick release can be problematic and needs to be improved. When it is brand new, there is no issue. As it wears, it becomes harder to release. The release mechanism (the part you grab) still moves easily but even when it is pressed firmly against th...

Re: Foil Specific Kite?

Hey Barry!
Yeah, NAS. Same location. I've had good luck there. Did go out on the foil when it was blowing hard. Took the 6m. Only NAS issue right now is mosquitoes. Lost a couple of pints there the other day.

Re: Controller 3 Line Set Up

It doesn't really matter. I'd put the red on the left to match the red steering line if I was being really picky...but it's not going to have any effect on anything important.

Re: Fun quotient, nitro vs legacy?

I have a ton of time on Nitro's, starting with Nitro2's up through Nitro5s. Have owned everything from 6m to 14m. I also have a Legacy 10m that I've had since they were released last year. I really like the Legacy but would recommend the Nitro. Here's why: *Nitro has a wider wind range, particularly...

Re: Foil Specific Kite?

Ok, so it cannot be called a foil specific kite...but, I've now got about a dozen sessions on my foil board and I've used my 10m legacy for about half of them. While I might not buy a legacy specifically for this purpose, it works really well. There are a few things that make the Legacy good for foi...

Re: Switchkites LEGACY kite used by MJ in PKRA Tarifa

@BamBam - I have my regulator pretty far away. Quite a bit of bar throw. Basically just at the end of my reach to grab the depower line. So, yeah, I could see if you have it pretty close potentially wanting to use a mini 5th. Still, lot of angle change in the kite when you push the bar out. Really n...

Re: Switchkites LEGACY kite used by MJ in PKRA Tarifa

@BamBam - ok, so I'm not Felix or Marc.... but I wouldn't worry about using the mini 5th on the Legacy. I've had my 10m out several times now and run the standard 5th line, set up suicide at the chicken loop. I have yet to have an issue with it doing anything stupid or pulling too hard when I drop t...

Re: Nitro 4 or Legacy?

NItro has greater overall range, in particular on the low end. (I have been flying Nitro 3's for the last 2 years and have flown the 4 as well; I also own a Legacy 10m.) If one kite quiver and wind range are your primary objectives, go with the Nitro. The wind range is amazing. My 10m Nitro3 is almo...
